Ear Wax Candles from KY General Store are an
all natural remedy that feels good. As the smoke from an ear
candle enters your ear canal, it softens deposits of ear wax. A gentle vacuum
is created by the warm smoke which pulls out ear wax and debris. This process
has been used for centuries and is commonly refered to as "ear candling"
or "coning". Ear candling is safer than using Q-Tips because no foreign objects
are entering the delicate ear canal. Ear wax candles from KY General Store
may also show benefits such as better hearing and less head congestion.
How They Are Made
Every candle is carefully handmade and inspected by skilled candle makers.
Each is about 11" in length, with a diameter of 5/8". The
tapered opening in the ear is about 3/16" which is slightly smaller than most
ear wax candles. The advantage to this is increased pull to remove
debris, and reduced heat in the ear for more comfort. The taper is
comfortable for adults, children or even the family pet. 100% unbleached cotton
is used in our candles with the finest paraffin wax or beeswax to create KY
General Store's ear wax candles. Absolutley no dyes or additives are
used in our ear wax candles.
Beeswax vs Paraffin
The type of wax that you choose is really just a personal preference. Paraffin
produces a little more smoke when burned and less candle residue. Beeswax will
burn slightly longer/slower but makes more residue.
Instructions For Use
Do not attempt to perform ear candling alone. You will need someone to assist
you. Materials also inlcude a paper plate, a container of water, matches
or a lighter, and two or more ear wax candles. First, make an opening in the
center of the paper plate big enough for the ear candle to fit through
snugly. Lie comfortably on your side with an ear up, and light the large end of
the ear candle. Place the small, tapered end into your ear and adjust
it until a seal is formed so that no smoke leaks from around the ear canal.
Depending on the amount of wax and debris inside the ear, it may
be unclogged as needed with a long, thin instrument. Extinguish the ear
candle in the water when it has burned down to within 3 or 4 inches of the
paper plate. Repeat the same process for the other ear.
A set of detailed instructions is included with each pair of ear
wax candles.
